By Kevin DoyleThe lure is undeniable and, once hooked, it matters
not whether you’re fly-fishing in unspoiled backcountry or battling a
deep-sea behemoth in rolling chop on the open ocean. For the true
sportsman, there’s nothing quite like the camaraderie of a day on the
water. Catching a fish or two makes it all the more enjoyable.
Where should you go? Amid myriad possibilities Exec Digital offers the following keepers.

Siberian secret
Following World War II, the Kamchatka Peninsula, a sparsely
populated region of the former Soviet Union was declared a military
zone and remained closed to Russians until 1989 and to foreigners until
1990. Now it is home to some of the world’s most spectacular fishing
with Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Eastern Siberian Char, all of
unmatched size and abundance. Emerald Water Anglers offers Float Fish
Heli Trips of one and two weeks throughout the season, which runs from
July to mid-October. Fishermen are flown to various rivers via
helicopter from Petropavlosk and camp at a new riverside location each
night.
