Update from the Jerejak Rainforest Resort
So after an EARLY checkout from the sketchy Chinatown Inn, I took a 75RM luxury NiCE bus (plusliner/NiCE bus company located on the west side of the old KL trainstation, NOT the main bus depot) on a 4.5 hour trip to Penang. Great bus company and trip with snacks and drinks and TV, but save your toilet time for the rest stops cuz the office restroom is tricky for ladies. (Note: you NEED tissue. there's only the hose and you CANT sit on the western toilet because the whole stall is wet)
I landed easily at their Penang station, near the airport, and took a 15RM taxi to the jetty for the Jerejak Rainforest Resort. At 190RM (63$ a night) plus a 120rm (40$ spa massage with footbath) and 30% off all spa treatments, a 25m pool, a full gym and cheap rainforest and beach activities, its a steal. the food is boring, as the lunch and dinner menu is the same, but that's a small thing over the course of 2 days. Fully recommended for a fast and cheap get away (if yur in Asia) or a stop over for spa and sun relaxation time before hitting more exciting places.
