Thanks giving menu, kinda
by Nekomimi Lisa 2 years ago
Well, it's Thanksgiving Day here in Japan - a working day. And I hardly thought about American holidays at all. I wasn't going to do anything but since Fabio is Brazilian, he has no idea what Thanksgiving is (or some of the traditional foods) so, I decided to have a mini-scaled down (sorta) version. I don't eat turkey and he dislikes pumpkin.
Snacks(from 4pm):
Crackers with cheese and onion dip (onion soup and sour cream- yum!)
Sparkling wine
Possible snack or salad from Fabio
Pre-dinner(7pm):
Cup of herbed cheddar potato soup with biscuits
Dinner(8pm):
Salmon baked with dill, lemon, salt and pepper
Garlic mashed potatoes
Buttered Peas
Biscuits
Cranberry Sauce (homemade!)
White wine or iced tea
Dessert(later, after death by dinner):
Rhubarb Crumble with vanilla ice cream
coffee
and a movie
sound ok? i give thanks this year to all ive learned since the last thanksgiving. and to all the great people ive met and opportunity that fell into my lap when everything seemed like it was falling apart (letting laid off in January, for example).
Interesting fact: salmon steaks plus lemon, dill, and potatoes added together cost less than the rhubarb. CRY.
