mumps

its is just me or do japanese children get shafted on vaccinations??
when i was a kid, i got my MMR, tetanus, and as an adult, ive boostered all of them and did the Hep combo shot too.
but at school it seems like kids are out every month with the Mumps. even one of the teachers had it when i first started. she claimed to be vaccinated so...who knows. but i cant believe the frequency of the disease! I guess this hand pasteurizer stuff we have doesnt really work after all - or maybe they got the mumps at yochien (kindergarden). japan is so first world in many ways, but along with the hole in the ground toilets, it seems lacking on the kiddie shots.
