2004 Barbera d Asti Superiore La Luna e le Stelle Dezzani
I already wrote about the best-of wines I had during my last visit to Copenhagen here, here and here.
Now it's time to sing the praises of the simple but good wines that can be bought in the Danish supermarket chains called Netto or Gobi.
The Dezzani family from Italy impressed me not only with a cute label and a likeable Barbera d'Asti but also with a semi-sweet Asti Spumante that I would not have touched, had not my mother-in-law served it on her 70th birthday.
Besides the very decent Brunello enclosed in this collection, an old favorite of mine was also served on this trip to Denmark: the 2006 Roodeberg is the very wine I always had when I still lived there--sumptous, pleasing and inexpensive.
